Gadi and Lustre File Systems

Gadi compute and login nodes, and all /g/data file systems will be offline for scheduled maintenance from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm AEDT on Tuesday 5 October. 

Virtual and Data Services

Services dependent on /g/data file systems: Open OnDemand, Data Catalogue, THREDDS, ESGF, GSKY, Copernicus Data Hub/SARA, Skymapper/ASVO, Accessdev, ERDDAP and Model Evaluation will also be unavailable to users during file system maintenance on Tuesday 5 October. All services are expected to resume normal operation as soon as possible following completion of maintenance on the same day. 


NCI Cloud services will be unavailable between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm to accommodate essential infrastructure maintenance. Nodes will remain powered up and instances will continue to run, however they will not be user accessible. This outage will also affect all core NCI Cloud services and back end infrastructure, including control plane services ( as well as volume services and NFS services.

Instances with volumes attached will be shut down at 8:30 am AEDT and restarted when maintenance is completed. Users are encouraged to shut down any other instances that could be affected by the networking outage, and restart them following completion of maintenance.


Network maintenance will result in a brief hazard period of up to 5 minutes (time to be confirmed) for connectivity during the 8:00 am to 6:00 pm scheduled downtime. This hazard period may affect availability of NCI systems not offline for maintenance on Tuesday 5 October, including,, and NCI Help Desk services.
