Himawari Derived Products 

Update: CMA, CT, CTTH, CMIC, CRR and CRRPh products completed processing on 26 Jul 2023 

Introduction of Himawari 8/9 Full Disk (FLDK) derived products for the lifetime of Himawari 8/9. This includes the following products: 

• Cloud Mask (CMA) 
• Cloud Type (CT) 
• Cloud Top Height and Temperature (CTTH) 
• Cloud Microphysics (CMIC) 
• Convective Rain Rate (CRR)
• Convective Rain Rate Physically Based (CRRPh)
• High Resolution Winds (HRW) / Atmospheric Motion Vectors (AMV)
• Rapidly Developing Thunderstorms (RDT) 

These products will be made available in stages from Q1 2023 onwards. Further details will be provided on the Announcement page as they become available.

Himawari 8/9 Observations

Completed 30 Nov 2022

Increasing the availability of the following Himawari 8/9 observation products for the full lifetime of Himawari 8, from 2015/07/07 to the present. This includes the following products for both Full Disk (FLDK) and Region 03 (RE03) observations: 

• Brightness Temperature 
• Scaled Radiance 
• Bidirectional Reflectance Factor 
• Corrected Reflectance 
• Solar Geometry
• Sensor Geometry 

This will be performed in stages as data is decommissioned from rr5. We expect this to be completed in Q4 2022. Further details will be provided on the Announcement page as they become available.
