Welcome to the ARE (short for Australian Research Environment). The ARE is a web-based graphical interface to perform your research with the familiarity of your regular desktop/laptop yet the power of a world-class research HPC behind you. It consists of a number of apps which perform different tasks such as Virtual Desktop (VDI), JupyterLab, Terminal, etc. If you are coming from previous offerings such as OOD or Strudel-VDI then we strongly encourage you to visit the Changes section to see what has changed.
