NetCDF (network Common Data Form) is an interface for array-oriented data access and a library that provides an implementation of the interface. The netCDF library also defines a machine-independent format for representing scientific data.

For more details on NetCDF see the main NetCDF site at UCAR.

Usage

To use the NETCDF package on vayu load the relevant module.

module load netcdf/4.3.0

For further information on using modules see here. To link to the libraries, load the netcdf module and use:

C: -lnetcdf

C++: -lnetcdf_c++ -lnetcdf

Fortran: -lnetcdff -lnetcdf

Note that the NetCDF module file is written to detect whether you are using gfortran or the Intel compilers and will chose the correct libnetcdff.a to link for Fortran code.
