Systems Impacted: gdata4

Dear NCI Users,

NCI staff are currently investigating an issue with the gdata4 file system. Projects hosted on this file system may be affected, with some files temporarily unavailable. Please monitor this page for further updates.

Update:  Affected files on gdata4 were accessible since 22 May 12:30 while the system health checks were being performed. Filesystem resumed normal operations a little later i.e. from 13:30 onwards.

Systems Impacted: gdata4

Dear NCI Users,

A hardware fault has occurred in gdata4, which is affecting access to the filesystem. NCI staff is working with the vendor on resolving the fault. Jobs that have a  -l storage flag that includes project space on gdata4, will not be launched until the issue is resolved. 

Further updates will be provided as soon as they are available.

Update 13 May 19:50: Gdata4 is online and jobs requesting gdata4 are now running. NCI thanks users for their patience while this issue was resolved. If you require further support, please contact help@nci.org.au

Systems Impacted: Access to Gadi

Dear NCI Users,

Just after 5pm this afternoon, there was a hardware failure in part of the core InfiniBand switching for Gadi. This is affecting access to Gadi. NCI staff are currently investigating and will attempt to restore access to services as soon as possible.


Further updates will be provided as soon as they are available.


Update 7:45pm 
The fault has now been resolved and NCI staff are bringing nodes back online. Users should resubmit any failed jobs impacted by this issue.

Systems Impacted: gdata1b

Dear NCI Users,

System admins have reported an issue with gdata1b operations that will prevent users with projects space on that filesystem from accessing Gadi or files/data on that specific filesystem. NCI staff are currently investigating the problem.

Further updates will be provided as soon as they are available.

Update 11:09am Gdata1b issues were resolved and the filesystem is back online.

Systems Impacted: Access to Gadi

Dear NCI Users,

There has been a communication breakdown between the storage and Gadi subsystems. This may have been preventing some users from accessing Gadi or their storage areas. NCI staff are working on resolving this issue.

Update 12:40pm Things have progressively been brought back to normal operations. Systems will continue to be monitored as usual.
