Priorities refer to the scheduled download process – priority 1 variables will be downloaded first, and then we will proceed to priority 2.

  • Priority 1 =  Core variables of piControl, ScenarioMIP (ssp585 and ssp245) and historical experiments at monthly, daily, 6hr and 3hr output frequency.
  • Priority 2 =  Secondary key variables of piContol, ScenarioMIP (ssp585 and ssp245) and historical experiments at monthly, daily, 6hr and 3hr output frequency and Priority 1 monthly variables for the experiments 1pctCO2, amip, abrupt4xCO2 and ssp126.

User Request Download

For information on how to request data be downloaded see the Data Download Request page.

Version update notification service

NCI is trialling a version update notification service for CMIP6 data via an RSS feed: https://esgf.nci.org.au/nci/pub/oi10/feed_rss.xml  The notifications are for updated versions of existing data and do not include notifications for new versions of previously unpublished data. Feedback on the service is welcome via help@nci.org.au

CMIP6

Australian Published CMIP6 Data

The published Australian datasets for CMIP6 (ACCESS-CM2 and ACCESS-ESM1-5) are available from data project fs38. You will need to join fs38 to access the data. For more information on CMIP data access options see: Data Access Information.

TheCMIP6 Data Request defines the variables that should be archived for each experiment and specifies the time intervals for which they should be reported. The variables produced and MIPs completed will be updated once the data is made available for publication.

NCI Official Replicated CMIP6 Data

Due to the large volumes of data expected for CMIP6 from around the world, not all the data can be replicated at NCI. Data that is replicated falls into 2 categories:

  1. Priority Download.
  2. User Request Download – see Data Download Request for details.

Priority Download

The priority and continuously updated variable download, as explained in the Data Download Request page, is the download of the priority variables defined based on user surveys, global CMIP download statistics and previously requested CMIP5 data replicated at NCI. Note that CMIP6 data will be released progressively over several months so the expected experiments/model datasets cannot be downloaded until they have been released.

The CMIP6 official replicated data can be found under the data project code oi10. You will need to join oi10 to access the data. Available data in the official space can be searched using the CleF tool. For more information on CMIP data access options see: Data Access Information.

CMIP5

Australian Published CMIP5 Data

The published Australian datasets for CMIP5 are available from data project rr3. You will need to join rr3 to access the data. For more information on CMIP data access options see: Data Access Information.

NCI Official Replicated CMIP5 Data

The CMIP5 official replicated data can be found under the data project code al33. You will need to join al33 to access the data. Available data in the official space can be searched using the CleF tool. For more information on CMIP data access options see: Data Access Information.

CMIP3

NCI Official Replicated CMIP3 Data

The entire CMIP3 data collection has been downloaded from the ESGF and all files can be found under the project cb20. You will need to join cb20 to access the data. For more information on CMIP data access options see: Data Access Information.
