There are two steps to starting Drishti.
Step 1. Starting an ARE session suitable for Drishti
When you login to the ARE, you will see the portal page as below
Step 1 : Click Virtual Desktop (GPU) button to start a VDI session as shown below :
Specify one of analysis or dgxa100 for Queue:
- analysis has Nvidia Volta V100 GPU with 32GB texture memory
- dgxa100 has Nvidia Ampere A100 GPU with 80GB texture memory
Step 2 : Click "Launch" button to enter the VDI session.
Alternative to using Drishti from web browser via noVNC
Native VNC is another way of connecting to the VDI desktop.
Select Native VNC tab and follow the steps listed in.
This will start the VDI session in the VNC viewer.
Step 2: Starting the Drishti app
Start a GPU-enabled VDI session with analysis queue (Volta V100 - 32GB) or dgxa100 queue - (Ampere A100 - 80GB)
Click the "Applications → NCIApps → Drishti"
This starts the Drishti Launcher
The three options are:
- Drishti - Visualize your data
- Drishti Import - Import your data in order to visualize (Drishti) or segment (Drishti Paint)
- Drishti Paint- Segment your data
Memory Settings
The memory settings need to be tuned for particular GPUs you are using. The following is the preferences dialogue pane where this is set:
Ampere A100 GPU (dgxa100 queue)
Set the Texture Memory Size to 80GB and Max Drag Volume Size to 1024MB.
Volta V100 GPU (analysis queue)
Set the Texture Memory Size to 32GB and Max Drag Volume Size to 512MB.
